Greetings delegates,

My name is Derek Ding, currently attending UWCCSC as a sophomore, and it is an honor to serve as the president chair of UNICEF for this year’s SHASMUN conference. I’ll be presiding over the topic of “Ensuring the safety, wellbeing and quality of life of children within active warzones” where we will discuss how children could be violated during times of conflict and the possible solutions to limit such actions. Hope everyone has an amazing time participating in this committee, can’t wait to meet everyone in February!

Hello Delegates!

My name is Isabella Ly and I am extremely honored to serve as one of the deputy presidents for UNICEF in the upcoming SHASMUN conference. I am currently in Grade 10 at United World College Changshu and SHASMUN will mark my fourth experience chairing.

For this conference, my topic of focus will be  “Protecting children from predatory advertising.” This issue is completely disheartening to see, as it brings to light how many of our youth today are forcefully taken advantage of in pursuit of predatory gain. Discussing this topic is of immense relevance and focused attention, and I look forward to seeing the approaches and efforts towards solving said saddening occurrence in the upcoming conference.

I hope that along with my fellow co-chairs we can craft an inviting environment for delegates of all skill levels, and collaborate to promote global cooperation in solving our world's greatest issues. If you have questions as to the upcoming conference, please do not hesitate to reach out, and I will be happy to provide any assistance needed!

Looking forward to a fruitful debate and drafting inspiring solutions to the issues at hand. See you at the conference!

Greetings, delegates!

My name is Emily, and I am a current 11th grader at SASPX. I have been involved in MUN since 6th grade, and I am honored to serve as the Deputy President for UNICEF.

I will be specializing in “Addressing child labor in global supply chains and the informal economy.” The issue of child labor began centuries ago and continues up to the present, and without adequate regulation, children's rights are easily violated by such labor systems. The complexity of the causes for child labor means that it requires an effective and thorough solution.

This year’s conference will certainly involve intriguing discussions about a wide variety of issues, requiring close cooperation between various delegates. With that in mind, I look forward to meeting you all at the conference!
