Welcome Delegates!

My name is Chandana Jelli, and I’m a Year 11 student at Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong, serving as your Deputy President in the Human Rights Council at SHASMUN XIII.

I’ve been involved in MUN for over a year and a half and have attended multiple conferences across Shanghai. SHASMUN will be my 7th conference, and I’m excited to take on this role.
In this conference I will be focusing on Topic 3: Combating child marriage in rural regions, an issue that requires thoughtful discussion and realistic, long-term solutions. Child marriage is an extremely prevalent human rights violation tied closely with poverty, gender inequality, limited access to education and weak legal enforcement.
Hopefully, SHASMUN XIII can be another unforgettable experience in our MUN careers - See you in February!

Hello delegates!
My name is Jenna, and I am a junior attending SAS Puxi. I am honored to serve as a Deputy President of the Human Rights Council this SHASMUN.
My MUN journey started at SAS Pudong in the beginning of middle school, and since then, I have attended numerous conferences across China. MUN has allowed me to grow as a writer, speaker, and leader, shaping my passion for diplomacy and world relations.
My topic of specialization for this conference will be ensuring the free movement of all peoples. This issue requires multilateral collaboration and communication in devising a feasible and long-term solution that can be applied across member nations. I am excited to see the ideas you will contribute during our debates.
Good luck delegates, and I look forward to meeting everyone in February.
